Brazil became a privileged market this year for CEREPLAS, where the implant of silicon CEREFORM® is now among the market leaders and winning more and more recognition for its quality. The presence in the national market was reinforced by the joint venture with Euromi and the performance of Euromi Ltda, placed at São Paulo. The French manufacturer CEREPLAS® is present in more than 40 countries, being a company world leader in the cosmetic surgery segment. In this interview, the national manager of sales, Gaèlle Queinnec, speech on the market strategies in Brazil and how much is important to be flexible for assisting quickly the needs of this constantly growth market.
How mammary implants CEREFOM® are offered to Brazilian market? Euromi Ltda is our importer company and exclusive dealer to Brazil. Actually, it is a Euromi SA’s Brazilian subsidiary. Euromi is a Belgian company specialized in the production and distribution of medical materials to dermatologists and plastic surgeons. Euromi Ltda is headquartered in São Paulo and has available stock to manage the logistics. The company received authorization of ANVISA, n° 80523330001, for the mammary implants CEREFORM®. Soon we will bring for Brazilian market other plastic surgery products and aesthetic medicines.
What are the characteristics of the Brazilian market and your commercial strategy developed to the country? Many competitive marks are already established in Brazil, but the surgeons plastics are open minded and they like to know about other products, especially, when they are innovative, competitive and have quality warranty. Our ambition is to offer an implant already internationally recognized by its excellent quality, providing a competitive price and a safe relationship. We know that the direct relationship with the surgeon is essential. In that sense, the distributors are also committed perfectly to offer this service daily. Besides, this year we participated in 8 Congresses in Brazil and for 2012 the patronage projects are also numerous.
Which are the differences between a brazilian surgeon and a french onde, for instance? I think the differences among French and Brazilian surgeons are linked to the needs of the market. The Brazilian women’s desires are very different from the French women. In Europe, the market can be considered as more conservative. The beauty patterns are different and the plastic surgery is still more discreet.
Last year, the French Health Agency closed a factory of silicon, Poly Implant Prothese. Then Anvisa prohibited in Brazil the sale of that product. Did that affect in some way the traditional image of French products of cosmetic surgery? With certainty, there was a fraud accusation, that is dramatic for all to the agents in the branch, so much for manufacturers and distributors, as for surgeons and patients. This unprecedented event also increases the control of the competent authorities and, like this, it guarantees larger quality and more safety for the patients. Cereplas was affected as any Europe manufacturer.
How did the company work with that situation that constrained the whole international market of cosmetic surgery? Our technical information and European certificates of quality were always available for the public’s consultation with total transparency. The implants CEREFORM® possess the Certificate of Conformity of Europe (CE), that indicates a product which is in accordance with the Directing of Safety Products of the European Union. All goes through for more than 20 biocompatibility tests and 12 mechanical rehearsals for certification.
Then, CEREPLAS certifications were important to explain and to tranquilize the market? CEREPLAS is certified by ISO 13485, in other words, it respects the norms of quality administration elaborated specifically for organizations that supply medical products and related services. Besides, it obeys directions that are requested for medical products in the European Community (93/42/CE and 2007/47/CE). The company CEREPLAS never presented any no-conformity that could threaten the products integrity, in this case, the raw material (NuSil) that uses. In the CEREPLAS evaluation, how is the partnership with the national distributors? The distributors with whom we worked have the same commitment sense that us and a fort desire to satisfy their customers. Dermátika is one of our first partners in Brazil. We worked side by side. It is a serious company, dedicated and reliable.
